General characteristics:
Annual herbaceous plant, creeping, sometimes climbing, with long stems with angular or cylindrical section and the surface covered with hairs; it emits tendrils. Large leaves, also covered with hairs, with a more or less angular blade, depending on the species, and long petiole. The flowers are yellow, large, unisexual, appearing solitary in the leaf axils. The fruits take on very varied shapes, depending on the species.
